Marjorie Kilbarger Obituary

It is with great sadness that we share the news of Marjorie Ruth Bernita Anderson Kilbarger’s peaceful passing at the age of 95 on February 21st, 2024 in Mount Sterling, Ohio. Marjorie was born on May 27, 1928 to Nellie C. Blazier Anderson and Robert W. Anderson.

Marjorie and her husband Roy were married on May 14, 1949.  Marjorie and Roy had seven children and loved nothing more than spending time with the ever so growing family.  Margie would always proclaim, “having 7 children we didn’t have a lot of money, but we made it work and there was always food on the table. We had good times!”   Marjorie and Roy lived in Pancoastburg (Waterloo) for several years upon where they raised their children.  Marjorie moved to Washington Court House after the death of her husband Roy to be closer to her Church, family and friends.  Recently she moved to Mount Sterling to live with her daughter Clarissa for the remainder of her years.

Marjorie was a devout member of St. Colman of Cloyne in Washington Court House.  In addition to being a member she became known for helping with Church dinners and functions.  Not only was she known for her broccoli rice casserole and wilted lettuce salad, but for her scrumptious cherry delight dessert.  My how we will miss those dishes, nobody could make em’ like her.

Most friends and family of Majorie’s knew her for the beautiful afghans she would crochet.  Over time she counted well into the hundreds if not a thousand blankets that she gifted.  She did such beautiful work and was quite speedy at it!  She crocheted not only full size afghans but baby afghans, lap robes, table cloths, scarves and angels.

Marjorie cherished her time with family and friends; whether it was Sunday dinner that she would prepare after church for all that would join or just a casual phone conversation, it was those moments spent with loved ones she would often speak of, and always with a smile and laughter.

Marjorie was a devoted and loving wife, a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.  She is preceded in death by her husband Roy H. Kilbarger Sr., sons Roy H. Kilbarger Jr., David L. Kilbarger, granddaughter Nicole L. Kilbarger, parents Robert and Nellie Anderson, sisters Winona Anderson Kreager, June Anderson Grimm, Linda Anderson Wiseman, brothers John Anderson, James Anderson, Theodore Anderson, William Anderson and Bobbie Anderson.

Marjorie is survived by her children Therese Webb (Robert), Steve Kilbarger (Kathy), Daniel Kilbarger, Clarissa Elmore (Mark), Dwight Kilbarger (Kelly), daughter-in-laws June Kilbarger and Connie Kilbarger. She has so many grandchildren, there’s not enough ink to write all their names.  She has 21 Grandchildren, 55 Great Grandchildren and 16 Great-Great Grandchildren. Marjorie also leaves behind her best friend and sister Clarice Anderson Foglesong, along with so many nieces and nephews.
