John Hibord “Blue” Queen III, 63, of Washington CH passed away Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Mount Carmel Medical Center West.
John was born on September 27, 1954, in Greene County to the late John H. II and Christine (Johnson) Queen. He retired from the Miami Trace School District maintenance department. John was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Bloomingburg. He was a former firefighter with the BMP Fire Department in Bloomingburg, retiring as a lieutenant after several years of service. He rode with the Red Knights biker group during that time. John was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed training and hunting with his award-winning beagles.
Along with his parents, John was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Mary Jane (Massie) Queen; his children, Christy (Howard) Hastings and John H. IV “Hib” (Kristina) Queen; grandchildren, Corben and Hagen Hastings and McKenzie, John H. V “Herbie” and Hailey Jane Queen, as well as, 5 sisters, 2 brothers, several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends
A funeral service is planned for Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at the Roberts Funeral Home with Chris Conley and Rex Schrim officiating. A masonic service is planned for 5:30 that evening. In keeping with his wishes, cremation will follow. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 3pm until the start of the service. In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
