Melvin L. Howard, age 74, of Washington C.H. passed away peacefully at Court House Manor on May 12, 2018 with family by his side along with his beloved pet, Scooby.
Mel was born July 16, 1943 in Oakland, California to the late Harold and Dorothy (Armstrong) Howard but had lived in Ohio for over 40 years. He had been a volunteer fireman and EMT with the Pleasant Twp. Fire Department in Catawba, Ohio. Over the years he had worked as a boiler operator, construction, and as a truck driver. He was truly a “Jack of all trades”. He also enjoyed watching John Wayne and all western movies.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon (Vinion) Howard, whom he married on June 4, 2005 and children, Ron Reisinger of Lakeview, Andrew (Melissa) Howard of IN, Mandy (Carl) Campbell of Catawba, Bobby (Nikki) Howard of Lakeview, Mary Jo (Michael) Legg of Greenfield and Dale (Amber) Bowers of Greenfield; 17 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and many friends, including his “partner in crime”, Don Clark.
In keeping with his wishes cremation will take place, with no formal services planned at this time. Roberts Funeral Home is caring for the family.
