Robert Lee Yarger, 80, of Ocala Florida passed away, Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 7:00am at the Chillicothe VA Medical Center after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
Robert was born December 18, 1937 in Washington Court House, Ohio to the late John & Thelma (Baughn) Yarger. He served 6 years in the Marine Corps, during which time he was stationed in the Philippines and Japan. He was proud to have served his country.
After his service in the military, Robert worked for the Pennington Bakery in Washington CH. He later worked for Complete General Contractors as a construction laborer. Later in life he began driving semis for Bowman and delivering new fire trucks to fire departments across the United States.
Along with his parents, Robert was preceded by sisters Jane Helsel and Barbara Wagner.
He is survived by his children Mark (Kristin) Yarger, Wayne Yarger, Tracey (Frank) Hudson and Cheryl Thompson. Grandchildren include: Jon Radcliff, Nick Radcliff, Matthew Radcliff, Justin Radcliff, Brittney Brenlish, Kellie Hudson, Aaron Yarger and Hannah Yarger. Robert always enjoyed visits from his children and many grandchildren while he lived in Ocala, Florida.
He was someone that was loved by all his neighbors and who often helped them, by repairing mowers then giving them to neighbors in need. He was always loaning money or letting others borrow his pick up truck or tools, whenever there was a need. He rarely complained, and instead focused on what others around him needed.
A funeral service will take place at 1:00pm on Saturday, September 8th at the Roberts Funeral Home with burial and military honors to follow in the Milledgeville Plymouth Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00am until the time of service.
