Michael N. Vrettos

Michael N. Vrettos , Age 70, Of Washington CH passed away Saturday May 14, 2016 at his home.

Born in Columbus, OH to Nick and Lula Pappas Vrettos, Mike had spent all of his life in this area. He was a 1963 graduate of the Washington Senior High School. He worked in the past as an investigator at the child support agency and in sales, where he loved being part of the sale. Mike’s true passion was his work in public safety. He has served on the Auxiliary of both the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office and the Washington Police Department. He was also a past Mason.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Ann Vasos Bennett; and brothers-in-law, Jim Vasos and Bill Bennett.

Survivors include his companion of almost 30 years, Sharon Burchett, and her son Nathan Burchett; brother, Tom (Peggy) Vrettos of Washington CH; nieces, Priscilla (Jack) Ralph of Galloway, Vicki (Eric) Gnezda of Worthington, and Michele Riley of Lewis Center; nephew, Nick (Jody) Vrettos of Waynesville; as well as, several great and great-great nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. He also leaves behind his two dogs Maxwell and Roxy Ann.

A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Thursday May 19, 2016 at the Roberts Funeral Home in Washington CH with Rev. Father Demetrios Gardikes of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday May 18 from 4pm-7pm at the funeral home.
