Annetta June (Dahmer) Smith

Annetta June Smith , 86, of Washington Court House gained her Heavenly wings on June 22, 2023.  She passed peacefully in her home with her loving family at her side.

Annetta was born June 26, 1936, in Wilmington, Ohio to the late Bishop Longino and Bernice (Stephens) Dahmer. She had worked over 40 years for Johnson Controls in Greenfield, Ohio. Annetta was a member of the Burning Bush Community Church and Red Hat Society. She was truly an inspirational person exemplified by her kind and generous nature. Her smile could lift your spirit. As an avid football fan, she enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns and loved watching her grandchildren play as well. Annetta has a vast collection of photos which she took over the years, leaving her family with many treasured memories to look back on.

Along with her parents and all 10 of her siblings, Annetta was preceded in death by her husband Elmer Smith, Jr. in 1997. She was also preceded by sons, Vernon Andrew Smith and Elmer Joseph Smith, and by a grandson, Tyrone Baker.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Annetta Baker of WCH, Gloria (Laurence) Petty of FL, and Shawn (Tiffani) Smith of WCH; grandchildren, Tylan Baker, Dr. Aerial Petty, Lauren Petty, Sirrenna Petty, Sebastian Smith , Christian Smith , Taylor Smith, Sterling Smith, Trinity Smith, Christina Keebler, Brennen (Patti) Smith, Elmer Joseph Smith,  Annetta Smith, Rachel Smith, Frankie Dent, Katherine Ferriman, Nicole Steward, and Donald Kinney; many great and great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Corrine Woodfork; and her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and treasured friends.

A funeral service is planned for 1pm on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at the Roberts Funeral Home in Washington Court House with Pastor Esto Haithcock, Jr., Bishop David Evans, and Rev. Phillip Collie officiating. Burial will follow in the Bloomingburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11am until the start of the service at 1pm.
