Barbara Jean Huff

Barbara Jean Huff, born on December 1, 1948, in Fayette County, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home in Washington Court House, Ohio, on May 5, 2026. She was a woman of warmth and a welcoming spirit, whose life was marked by dedication, both in her professional endeavors and personal relationships.

Barbara's career was varied and impactful. She worked as a salesperson at French's Hardware, where she was known for her approachable manner and strong work ethic. Later, she contributed to the community through her role delivering supplies for Triduro Cleaning Supplies. Her commitment to service extended into education as she worked as a custodian for Miami Trace Schools, where her presence was a steady and comforting one for many.

In her youth, Barbara was notably gifted in sports, with a particular talent for softball. Her athletic abilities were a source of pride and joyful memories, reflecting her spirited nature and competitive drive.

Barbara cherished her family deeply. She is survived by her brothers Billy Prater, Bobby (Sharon) Prater, and Michael Morarity, along with her sister Debra S. Hopkins. She also leaves behind her special niece, Abigail Patricia Severtson, as well as many extended family members and friends who will remember her fondly. Her passing follows that of her beloved husband, James Huff; her mother, Alpha Jean Morarity; her father, Lawrence East; and her brothers Larry East and Hugh P. Morarity, Jr.

Barbara’s life was a testament to kindness, resilience, and sincere human connection. Her memory will continue to inspire those who knew her, embodying a spirit that was always warm and welcoming. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know her.
