Barbara Jean Persley-Jones

Barbara Jean Persley-Jones , age 69, of Columbus passed away on January 25, 2017 at the Mount Carmel Medical Center, following a brief illness. Her passing was sudden and unexpected.
She was born April 4, 1947 in Scott County, KY to the late Robert and Lena Burrell Persley. She was a graduate of Bourbon County High School. She worked as an administrator in the Department of Corrections for the State of Ohio and the MRDD. She also held the position of EEOC Investigator. She attended the St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Columbus. In her down time, she enjoyed reading and writing.
Survivors include her husband, Dewayne Lee Jones, whom she married in September of 1981; her children, Mark Persley and Susan Adewusi both of Cincinnati and Chaz Jones of Columbus; grandchildren, Dominique Dorman, Sonia Gibbs, Taylor Persley, Christian Persley and Marcellus Dewayne Lee Jones; siblings, Beverly Louise Persley, Charles Washington Jr. (Mary)
Persley, Cheryl Persley, Darryl (Victoria) Persley and Michael (Karen) Gassett. She also leaves behind extended family members and a host of friends.
A service will take place on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the Roberts Funeral Home in Washington CH with Bishop Elder Gregory Sonia Ervin officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11am until the time of service.
