Bernice Katherine Newkirk

Bernice Katherine (Eldridge) Newkirk passed away peacefully at home on January 23, 2026, at the age of 73. Born on August 6, 1952, in Columbus, Ohio to the late Edwin and Odie Mae Eldridge.

A devoted mother and grandmother, Bernice is survived by her son, Robert (Betica) Newkirk of Washington Court House, and her daughter, Michelle (Bobbi) Newkirk of Columbus. She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Mark Newkirk, Caleb Newkirk, Mary Newkirk, Rachael (Kenny) Myers, Felicia Myers (Arye), and Sincere Hodge, as well as her great-grandchildren, Carson, Cole, Wyatt, Laytham, Gracie, Gage, and Lily.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Gary Thomas Newkirk, and siblings, Peach, Elaine, and Edwin Eldridge.

Her warmth, resilience, and dedication to her family will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
