Caren Kay (Smith) Whaley

Caren Kay Whaley, 74, of Washington C.H. passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022, at the Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio.

Caren was born January 23, 1948, in Williamsport to the late Hubert and Helen (Ater) Smith. Caren worked for a short time waiting tables at the J&J restaurant before beginning her career as a nursing aid at the Quiet Acres Nursing Home. She was an animal lover and had fostered and adopted many stray kittens over the years. Caren enjoyed collecting dolls and nut crackers.

Along with her parents, Caren was preceded in death by her sister, Doris Secrest and her brothers, Loren and Mark Smith.

Survivors include her son, Shawn Whaley, brother, Larry Smith, and sister-in-law, Terrena Smith. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and a host of close friends.

The family will receive friends from 3pm to 4pm on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Roberts Funeral Home in Washington Court House. Further arrangements will be at the convenience of the family.
