Carl Bernard Hess, age 79, of Washington Court House, passed away February 25, 2015, at St. Catherine’s Manor.
Born March 13, 1935 to Joseph and Magdalena Hess, he resided in Dayton Ohio until moving to Washington C.H. in 1969.
He was a veteran of the Navy and Army Reserves and before retiring from FERNO in Wilmington, also worked for McCall’s Magazine and NCR.
Carl’s passions in life were his family and faith, always thinking of others and their needs. Regularly attending St. Colman of Cloyne Catholic Church, he also enjoyed the Latin Mass at Holy Family Catholic Church in Dayton, OH and was a member of St. Helen’s Leisure Club.
In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his wife, the former Patricia Bergemeier on January 19, 2012; brother, Joe Hess; sisters, Mary Gornes, Rita Bauer, Dorothy Herzog and Loretta Chaffin.
He is survived by his children, Carl P. (Gina) Hess, Lana (John) Elrich, Joseph Hess and Chris (Robin) Hess; stepsons, Michael (Kris) Wright, John (Linda) Wright and James (Rhonda) Wright; God-daughter, Donna Witek; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Sunday, March 01, 2015, from 2-6 p.m. at the Wellman-Kinzer & Godorhazy Funeral Home, Washington C.H. Mass of Christian Burial, Monday, 11:00 a.m., St. Colman of Cloyne Catholic Church. Rev. Father Jan Sullivan, Celebrant. Interment to follow in St. Colman Catholic Cemetery. FAMILY AND FRIENDS ARE ASKED TO ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH FOR HIS FUNERAL MASS.
