Charley E Morris

Charley E. Morris of Good Hope passed away on November 19, 2021, at the age of 89. He had been in failing health for several months.

Charley was born August 11, 1932 in Fayette County, Ohio to the late George Sr. and Gertrude (McCoy) Morris. He was a proud veteran of the US Army, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a past member of both the local AmVets and VFW post 3762. Charley enjoyed fishing and taking care of his garden. The family remembers all of the card games he played with them, many times creating his own versions.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Darrell “Duke” Morris; great grandson, Clint Morris, Jr; brother, George Morris, Jr; and sisters, Lottie Belle Williamson, Mary Ann Summers, and Kathleen Duffy.

Surviving are his loving wife Gloria “Deanie” Morris, whom he married on November 11, 1956; daughters, Toni Rodgers Morris and Brenda (Raymond) Sever; grandchildren, Clint Morris, Carissa (Mark) Rhode, Trisha Warner, Korenda (Kirk) Roush and Darrell (Shae) Morris; brother, Robert (Joann) Morris; several great grandchildren, and his many friends.

A funeral service is planned for 1pm on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor John Burr officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at the Good Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11am until the start of service.
