Christopher Ray Alspaugh

Christopher Alspaugh , age 57, of Washington C.H. passed away peacefully at his home on the morning of January 1, 2017.

Chris was born in WCH on December 24, 1959. He was a graduate of Miami Trace High School. During his years, he worked in maintenance at Showa Aluminum in Mt. Sterling and drove a taxi locally. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking in his spare time. Chris attended the Rose Ave. Community Center and Church, where he enjoyed helping families at their food pantry.

Preceded in death by his grandmother, Tootie Sanders.

Chris is survived by his wife, Janis (Meyer) Alspaugh, whom he married on November 17, 1989; children, Cassie Leisure and Brian (Lisa) Alspaugh; step-children, Bree (Jamal) Joseph, Bridget Andrews and Erik Andrews; grandchildren, Branson Leisure, Landen and Jacob Alspaugh, Jayla, Braylon and Hailey Joseph, Kylie, Ciara and Landon Andrews and Alex Leach; brother, JR Johnson; step sister, Tina Sturgill; and many other family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at the Rose Avenue Community Center from 3pm to 5pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the funeral home to help with expenses.
