David Elton Taylor, 86, of Washington Court House, passed on to his Heavenly reward on Monday, March 24, 2025, at home with his family following a prolonged illness.
David was born December 2, 1938, in Fayette County, to the late Elton and Dolly (Wilson) Taylor. He was a member of the Ohio National Guard from 1956 to 1959. After many years of service, he retired from Mac Tool in Sabina, Ohio upon their closing. Throughout his life he was a faithful and dedicated man of God, leading and teaching others about faith, hope, and love through his actions.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Ellenberger; a great-grandchild; sister, Rose Funk; brother Roger Taylor; and a brother-in-law, Kenny Funk.
Surviving are his children, Davy Taylor of WCH and Lisa Taylor of NC; grandchildren, Anthony Taylor, Adam Taylor, Shelby Wade, Larisa Taylor, Melinda Riley, and Kristopher Riley; 14 great grandchildren; brother, Frank (Ada) Taylor; sister, Mary Camp; sister-in-law, Nancy Taylor; as well as many extended family members and his many friends, including a special friend and caregiver, Brenda Angel Bateman.
A funeral is planned for 12pm on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at the Roberts Funeral Home in Washington Court House, with Pastor Bill Davis officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Jeffersonville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, March 31st from 5 to 7pm.
