Donald K Knisley Sr.

Donald K. Knisley Sr. “Corky” , age 85 of Washington CH, passed away February 18, 2016 at Mount Carmel Medical Center in Columbus, where he had been a patient for several days.

Donald was born on May 24, 1930 in Madison County to the late Smith Emory and Alice (Puckett) Knisley. He had been living for the past five years in Washington CH, but had lived most of his life in London, Ohio. He worked as a farmhand on a dairy farm, and later as a foundry man at both Fisher Steel and Buckeye Steel in West Jefferson. He retired after 32 years. Donald proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War, and was later a member of the Civil Defense in London, OH.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Patricia (Burt) Knisley, whom he married in October of 1953; a brother Norman; and sisters, Donna and Opal.

His survivors include his children Donald Knisley Jr of Washington CH and Mary Kay Cain of London; grandchildren Donald (Jolyn) Knisley, Tina Knisley and Pauline (Rodney) Lyons all of Washington CH, Rick Cain, Patty Cain and Josh Cain all of London, OH; siblings, Paul Knisley of Clarksburg, Alfred Knisley and Marge Lloyd both of London; as well as, several great grandchildren and many many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday February 25, 2016 at 11 am at the Roberts Funeral Home in Washington CH with pastor Danny Dodds officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Georgesville, OH. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday February 24 from 4 to 7 pm.
