DORIS JEAN JACKSON, age 85, of Washington CH, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at Copper Knoll Health & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on January 26, 1941 in Washington CH to the late Miles and Ida (Forsha) Frederick. She was a graduate of Washington High School. Doris was a homemaker and stay-at-home mother of six children. Later in life she worked as a nursing assistant for home health. She enjoyed going to yard sales, and spending time with her family and grandchildren, the true “joys” of her life.
In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Everett Jackson; grandchildren, Jacob Jackson, Pandora Josephine “PJ” Cattlen, Miller Ray Smith and his mother, Rachel McGraw; siblings, Betty (Elton) Taylor, Barbara (Everett) Fitch, Mary (Lowell) Higman, Marvin (Nancy) Frederick, Earl (Lorraine) Frederick, Charles (Evelyn) Frederick, William Frederick, and Robert Frederick; and brother-in-law, Robert Bain.
Survivors include her children, Gary (Michelle) Jackson, Diana “Candy” (Robert Six) Smith, Bobby “Joe” Jackson, Tina (Tracy) Burnett, Michael Jackson, and Charles E. “Butch” Jackson, III; grandchildren, Charles “Chuck” Jackson, Megan (Leighton) Brown, Justin (Karenda Strevel) Smith, Nicholas Six, Kourtney (Ross Brill) Rowland, Tiffany (Austin) Kearns, Kami (Bryant Axline) Camp, Wesley Burnett, Joshua Jackson, and Jacqueline Jackson; great-grandchildren, Kolson, Kason, Kashton, Connor, Bryson, Parker, Kenzleigh, Garrison, River, Havanna, Hendrix, Harrison, Treven, Teegan, and Braxton; and sister, Cynthia Bain. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful nurses and nursing assistants who took special care of our mother during this most difficult time.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the Roberts Funeral Home with Chaplain Deb Justice officiating with burial to follow at the Highlawn Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
