With deep sorrow and respect, we announce the passing of Dwayne Dwight Morris, who left this world peacefully yet unexpectedly on December 17, 2025, in his hometown of Washington Court House, Ohio. Born on June 18, 1961, Dwayne dedicated his life to the service of his community through his work as a Truck Driver for the Ohio Department of Transportation, where he played an integral role in maintaining the roads we travel.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Roseann Stolzenburg, a sister, Jeanann Thomas, and a granddaughter, Sammy Morris.
Dwayne was deeply proud of his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Tamela (Oliver) Morris, their children: Dwayne (Rosalee) Morris, Jr., Scott (Amber) Morris, and Penny (Brian) Williams, and his father, Bill Stolzenburg. Dwayne took immense joy in being a grandfather to his grandchildren: Hailey Gilpen (Anderw Morris), James Gilpen, Jr. (Abigale Mick), Justin Morris, Matthew Morris, Carson Gilpen-Williams, Kyndall Morris (Owen Zurface), Trevor Miller, and Remington Morris. Additionally, he is also survived by three great-grandchildren. Dwayne is also survived by his brothers, Robert (Barb) Morris, Terry (Connie) Morris, and David (Linda) Morris. His life was enriched by several extended family members and numerous dear friends, including special friends David "Dayday" Burlile and Paul Pedergraft.
Dwayne was an active member of his community and took particular pride in his role as a member and Past President of the local Night Owls Club, which he contributed to for over 30 years. His volunteer work in the Headstart Program was especially meaningful to him, as he helped nurture not only his grandchildren but also countless other children in the community.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation will take place. A funeral is planned for 3pm on Monday, December 22, 2025 at the Roberts Funeral home in Washington Court House with Pastor Danny Dodds officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1pm until the start of the service. Following the funeral, the family will enjoy food and fellowship with friends at Posey Plaza, 228 Jefferson Street, Greenfield, Ohio 45123.
