Evelyn Elaine Haithcock
Having taught us through her exemplary life in Christ to Bless the Lord at All Times, Evelyn is now resting in His presence after 83 years, 4 months , and 2 days. On Friday December 9, 2016 at 2:20 p.m. she departed this life at Signature Healthcare of Fayette County where she resided the last 3 years.
Born August 7, 1933 in Wilmington, OH to Longino and Bernice (Stephens) Dahmer, she lived most of her life in Fayette County. Esto Haithcock, Sr. was her spouse of 65 years until his death in March of this year. They were married June 15, 1950 in Bloomingburg, OH.
She is survived by their six children who hold her dear and will miss her greatly: Esto, Jr. (Kathy), Steven, Sr., Cynthia Ann (Phillip, Sr.) Collie and Denise Harris all of Washington C.H., OH; Glenna Cross of Columbus, OH and Sherri (Gary) Lyon of North Carolina. The legacy of blessing she leaves includes 22 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Annetta Smith of Washington C.H. and a brother, Wilbur (Norvia) Dahmer of Xenia, OH.
Those proceeding her including her parents were brothers: Longino William, Carroll and George; sisters include Ellen, Merle, Gloria, Norma Jean and Edwinna.
As a teen Evelyn became a Believer, placing her faith in Jesus Christ as her Saviour. She then attended the All Nations Church of Christ, now Burning Bush Community Church.
Our Beloved “Lainie” was always a devoted wife and stay-at-home Mom with her “brood of six.” So many fun times! Our family recognizes the will of God. We know he has spoken once again…LET THE CHURCH SAY AMEN!
Visitation with Family And Friends will be Friday, December 16 th from 4pm-8pm.
A Celebration of her life will be held Saturday, December 17 th at 1pm at the Roberts Funeral Home.
