Frances Lee Roberts passed away on February 12, 2026, in Cincinnati, Ohio, following a brief illness. Born on September 30, 1945, in Washington Court House, Frances lived a life rich in simple joys and deep connections to both her work and her family.

Frances dedicated many years to the field of education, working in admissions at Southern State Community College where she positively impacted the lives of countless students. An avid gardener, she found tranquility in tending to her flowers and houseplants, pouring both time and love into her beautiful yard. She also had a keen interest in antiques, delighting in the treasures she would discover while shopping at thrift stores. She is fondly remembered for singing and playing her accordion, sharing her musical talents with those around her. She was known for her exceptional skill in refinishing furniture, a testament to her creativity and attention to detail.

A member of the Chapel of Hope in Greenfield, Ohio, Frances lived her faith with unwavering devotion. She was proud of her role as a devoted servant of God.

Frances was a beloved mother and grandmother, remembered fondly by her children: Roger Alan Detty, Lisa (Chris) Cox, Laura A. Aills, and Victoria (Kenny) Smith. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, including Miranda (Ronald) Morris, Caroline Aills (Brandon), Danielle Cox, Cora Helsel, Daniel J. Detty, Sierra Self, Susan Self, Kamille (Ethan) Yates, Milton Davison, Dorothy Jane Davison, Catherine Ferriman, and Elizabeth Kesler, as well as her great-grandchildren Noah Williams, Colby Aills, Levi Kidd, Raegan Burton, Jackson Morris, Jordan Morris, Savannah Morris, and Kaylee Taylor, and great great grandchildren, Ullani Taylor and Zamir Taylor. She is also survived by her brother, Dale (Helen) Short, and her sisters, Diane Johnson and Arlene (Lee) Perkins, as well as her extended family and her many friends.

Frances was predeceased by her parents, John and Virginia (Morris) Short, her husbands: Daniel J. Detty in 1968, Milton Aills in 1995, and Eldon Roberts in 2010, and a son, John William Detty.

A funeral service is planned for 11am on Friday, February 20, 2026, at the Roberts Funeral Home in Washington Court House. Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, February 19th from 4 to 7pm. Frances will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her love of family, and her dedication to giving and service.
