Frank J. Jackson Jr. , age 89, of Good Hope passed away on the evening of January 30, 2018 at Edgewood Manor of Greenfield, where he had been a patient only a short time.
Frank was born on July 5, 1928 in Clark County to the late Frank Sr. and Nancy Kepler Jackson. He moved to this area over 65 years ago. Frank and his wife purchased and operated Jackson’s Marathon station in Good Hope for many years. He ran a garage out of the station and was a well-known mechanic in the area. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and the occasional mechanic lesson for anyone showing interest. Frank was a true Ford man, and enjoyed watching Nascar, especially his favorite driver, Carl Edwards.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Larry Jackson, a daughter, Carol Sue Jackson, grandson, Jack A. Jackson Jr., and brothers Charles and Bud Jackson.
Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Eldiva (Boyd) Jackson; his children; Charles (Cathy) Jackson, Darrell (Kim) Jackson and Jack (Wendy) Jackson; grandchildren, Sherry (Chris) Parker, Stacey (Mark) Newkirk, Charles Jackson, Michael (Amy) Jackson, Darrick Jackson and Monica (Will) Smith; brothers, Joe, Fred “Bucky” and Randy “Butch” Jackson; and a sister, Frances “Poodle “ Dewy. He is also survived by great and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Monday February 5, 2018 at the Roberts Funeral Home in Washington C.H. with Pastor Paul Seaman officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 11am until the time of service. Burial will follow in the Good Hope Cemetery.
