Freda Lynn Seymour, a cherished daughter, grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away at her home in Jeffersonville, Ohio, on December 2, 2025, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born on September 15, 1962, in Washington Court House, Ohio, Freda embodied kindness and warmth throughout her life, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she met.
A proud graduate of Miami Trace High School in 1980, Freda furthered her education with an associate degree in Drafting from West Virginia Career College. Freda loved to travel, particularly enjoying trips to Florida and Texas, creating memories that would forever be cherished. She also had a special fondness for reading and camping, making countless joyful experiences with her loved ones.
Freda was deeply involved in her community and her faith, attending the Bookwalter Church of Christ and Christian Union. Her spirit was kind and pleasant, a light that drew people towards her, and her friendships were indicative of her warm character. Among her many dear friends, Christine Carey and Lima stood out as especially significant in her life, sharing in both laughter and solace.
Freda leaves behind her beloved mother, Carolyn Seymour, and her cherished grandchild, Karleigh Rose Joseph, whom she raised from the age of five. She also holds a special place in the hearts of her godchildren, Robin Lynn, Vincent Munro, and Danielle (Munro) Anthony, aunts, Wilma Jean (Seymour) Lowe and Nancy Joseph, uncles, Phillip Seymour and Danny Seymour, honorary siblings, Rick Lowe, Levenia Munro, and Reatha Godlove, and her many honorary grandchildren and friends.
A funeral service is planned for 7pm on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at the Roberts Funeral Home in Washington Court House with Pastor Mike Williams officiating. Tha family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 5pm until the start of the service. In keeping with her wishes, cremation will follow.
As we remember Freda, let us cherish her kindness, her vibrant spirit, and the love she shared so freely with her family and friends. Her life, though it has come to an end, will continue to inspire those who were lucky enough to know her.
