Once again, our God has spoken according to His sovereign will.
Freddie Clark Flowers of Dothan, Alabama was received into His divine presence early Sunday morning, March 23, 2025, at the age of 90 years and 61 days. “Rock” as he was affectionately called slept away peacefully in his home of the past 15 years with Phillip, Sr. and Cynthia Ann Collie of Washington Court House, Ohio. Rock was born January 21, 1935, in Headland, Alabama to J.T. and Gussie (Brown) Flowers. Following graduation, he joined the United States Air Force and spent his time as a military policeman in Alaska. Following his military career, he published The Onyx, a newspaper in Columbus, Ohio in the early 60s. Then a few decades were spent as an avid golfer and caddy for the ladies of the LPGA- having traveled to 48 states and playing too many courses to count.
Along with his parents, Rock was preceded in death by a toddler son, Aric Galloway Flowers.
Surviving him are his daughter Gussi Haynes and a son, Rock Haynes both of Columbus, Georgia. Also surviving is a brother, Michael Flowers of Columbus, Ohio, special cousins, Hazel Flowers, Gladys Brown, Alice Flowers and Jack Marchbanks. Relatives and friends are numerous and will miss him so.
Services are set for 12pm on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the Roberts Funeral Home in Washington Court House, Ohio with Minister Phillip Collie, Sr. officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at the Bloomingburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11am until the start of the service.
Freddie Flowers fellowshipped into the Body of Christ through personal confession in our Lord and Savior and was baptized in the mid 80’s at the Washington Christian Center locally.
To God be all the glory and…
