George Dewey Greenlee, Jr. of Greenfield passed away Sunday, July 7, 2024, at St. Catherine’s Manor in Washington Court House following ongoing illness.
George was born September 23, 1941, in Fayette County to the late George Sr. and Madge (Black) Greenlee. He was a member of the Good Hope High School graduating class of 1959. George had worked for over thirty years at Mead Containers in Washington Court House. He also worked for over thirty years with Wayne Township doing road maintenance. He was a member of both the AMVETS and Fraternal Order of Eagles 1325, both in Greenfield. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing, and tinkering around the garage. He was also a skilled mushroom hunter.
Along with his parents, George was preceded in death by His wife Garnet Greenlee, and by a brother, Curtis Greenlee.
Survivors are his son, George Greenlee III (Amy Brown); stepchildren, Jackie (Amanda) Creed and Tammy (Roger) Thornhill; grandchildren, Emily, George IV, Angel, Isaiah, Georgia, Noah, Jamie, Bryan, Ryan, and Josh; several great-grandchildren; and by his many friends, including special friends, Davey Joe and Cindy Mills.
A funeral is planned for 12pm on Friday, July 12, 2024, at the Roberts Funeral Home in Washington Court House with Pastor Danny Dodds officiating. Burial will follow in the Good Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 11am until the start of the service.
