Grace Ann (Southward) Cottrill

Grace Ann (Southward) Cottrill passed away peacefully at her home on December 20, 2023, at the age of 88.

Grace was born to the late Walter and Bessie (Buskirk) Southward. She was a member of the Washington Senior High School Class 0f 1953. Grace owned and operated Richard Cottrill Trucking and Windy Ridge Feed and Supply with her late husband. Following retirement, Grace started a second career working in the shoe department at the local Walmart where she worked another 12 years.

Along with her parents, Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Cottrill in 1998 and by 6 sisters, and 4 brothers.

Survivors include her children, Carl “Mick” (Faith) Cottrill and Bobbi (Shorty) Roberts both of WCH, grandsons, Jeremy (Megan) Cottrill and Josh (Amber) Cottrill, and great grandchildren, Savannah, Mason, and Gavin Cottrill. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and friends, including special friends, Shirley Roberts, Helen and Gene Vernon, and her K-9 companion Misha.

In keeping with her wished cremation will take place with burial of the urn to follow in Bush Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Ohio’s Hospice of Fayette County, 222 N. Oakland Ave., Washington C.H., HO 43160. Roberts Funeral Home is caring for the family.
