Henry "Hank" Eugene Adkins

Henry “Hank” Eugene Adkins, 75, of Washington Court House earned his eternal reward on September 9, 2024, at the Riverside Methodist Hospital.

Hank was born July 25, 1949, in Cabel County, WV to the late Lige and Lora (Gooderham) Adkins. He was a proud veteran having served in the Marine Corps during Vietnam, and later serving stents in both the U.S. Air Force and Army National Guard. Prior to retirement, Hank had worked as a Machine Operator at PHe and as a driver for Advanced Auto Parts. He was an exceptional husband, father, and grandfather.

Survivors include the love of his life, his wife, Elizabeth (Harter) Adkins with whom he shared nearly 50 years of marriage; his children, Marvin Streitenberger, Anthony Adkins, Colleen (Adkins) McLaughlin, and Pauline Knisley; 19 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; a sister, Jane Wilson; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and his many friends.

A funeral service is planned for 11am on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at the Roberts Funeral Home in Washington Court House with Pastor Keith Clary of the Unity Fellowship Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Highlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, September 16th from 5pm to 7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to help offset the costs of Hank’s final expenses would be graciously accepted.
