Jack L Thompson

Jack Lowell Thompson, 91, of Washington Court House, Ohio, formerly of Dayton, passed away peacefully on the evening of Sunday, January 21, 2024, at Court House Manor.

Jack was born June 22, 1932, in Fayette County, Ohio to the late Virgil and Cora Ann (Phillips) Thompson. He lived over 40 years in the Washington Court House area, before moving to Dayton, Ohio but returned following the passing of his wife. Jack had worked as a machinist at Ferno-Washington for 20 years, in maintenance at McCalls Printing for 20 years, and finally in maintenance at Friendship Village for nearly 20 years.

Along with his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his wife Janet in 2021, a sister, Phyllis Strickler and a brother, Gerald Thompson.

Survivors include his children, Debra Barnes and her husband Terry of TN and Jeff Thompson and his wife Gale of WCH; grandchildren, Chad McNutt and his wife Beth, Dustin Thompson and his wife Heather, Adam Thompson and his wife Shawn, and Daniel and Devon Barnes; 9 great grandchildren, Jessica, Jacob, Allison, Matthew, Dylan, Haylie, Makenze, Cooper, and Cadyn; as well as, one great-great granddaughter, Willow. He also leaves behind his many friends.

A graveside service is planned for 1:20pm on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at the Good Hope Cemetery with Pastor Danny Dodds officiating. The family will receive friends at the Roberts Funeral Home in Washington Court House on Thursday from 12pm to 1pm. In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to Heartland Hospice, 208 N.
