James Everett Riley

James Everett Riley, 73, of Chillicothe passed away August 20, 2024, at the OSU Wexner Medical Center following a brief illness.

James was born February 26, 1951, in Bainbridge, Ohio to the late Everett and Rosa (Wilson) Riley. Jim truly loved spending time with his grandchildren and even more with his great grandchildren every chance he got. He enjoyed watching wrestling, westerns, Nascar, especially his favorite driver Tony Stewart.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Della, a daughter, Angie Riley, a grandchild, Miracle, a brother, Melvin, and a fur baby, Hennessy.

Surviving are his children, Jimmy Kemp, Brian Riley, and Ashley Riley; grandchildren, James Riley, Hailey Penwell (Keith Glass), Allen Penwell, Alyx Penwell (Lauren Martin); great grandchildren, Carter and Kingsley Riley, Kaeson Penwell, and Khya Glass; sisters, Diane Storer and Sue Lute; brother, Denny (Debbie) Riley; and his fur babies, Alita, Bacardi, and Brandy, as well as her many friends.

A funeral is planned for 11am on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at the Roberts Funeral Home in Washington Court House. Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, August 26th from 5pm to 7pm. In lieu of flowers the family is suggesting contributions to the funeral home to help with Jim’s final expenses.
