Jeffrey Alan Merritt

Jeffrey Alan Merritt, 56, of Seattle, Washington, formerly of Washington Court House, passed away unexpectedly at his home on December 5, 2023.

Jeff was born January 26, 1967, in Naples, Italy to the late Garry and Marlene (Mitchell) Merritt. He was a member of the Miami Trace High School graduating class of 1985. Following high school, Jeff joined the United States Navy, proudly serving his country for nearly 8 years. In his down time he enjoyed watching football and baseball games on TV and was always up for a good round of golf. Jeff was an avid fisherman and loved spending the day at the waters edge any chance he could.

Along with his parents, Jeff was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ralph and Peggy Merritt and Clyde and Pauline Mitchell, as well as several aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his wife, Tamie Johnson Merritt of Oregon, whom he married February 25, 1994; his sons, Zack Merritt of Washington State and Nick Merrit of Oregon; sister, Leaha Merritt Lindsey of WCH; and an aunt, Becky Griswold of Oregonia. He also leaves behind several cousins and his many friends, both local and in Washington State.

A memorial service will be held at 6pm on December 19, 2023, at the Roberts Funeral Home in Washington Court House with Pastor Danny Dodds officiating. There will be a gathering of friends and family from 5pm until the start of the service.
