John Adkins, Jr.

John Adkins Jr. , 77, of Washington Court House passed away unexpectedly at his residence on November 5, 2022.

John was born February 5, 1945, in Ross County, Ohio to the late John R. and Mallie (Keaton) Adkins. Following graduation, he entered the US Army, serving nearly eight years during the Vietnam War. John drove truck for many years locally with Tempo Trucking. He also worked nearly 10 years at Sea Ray in Florida building boats. More recently, John had worked assisting Jack Waddle on his farm. John enjoyed golfing and collecting and playing the guitar. He also liked motorcycles and watching drag racing.

Along with his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife of many years, Ursula Adkins; grandchildren, Victoria Simpson and K.C. Conaway, and siblings, Leslie, Estil, Monk, Chester, Fannie Mae, James, Arnol Dee, John Jr., Anna, Willis, Linda Adkins, and a son-in-law, Joe Beam.

He is survived by his children, Sabine (Russ) Loeffler, Mary Adkins, Carol (Butch) McCoy, Heidi Beam, and Kevin (Kathy) Adkins; grandchildren, Jeremy and Josh Matthews, Anthony Adkins, Bethany Limón, Jim Anders, Mara Woolever, Mason McCoy, Leighton, Mckinis, Drezden, and Ridgeden Beam, Kinsey, and Kyler Adkins;  Several Great Grandchildren, brothers, Lonnie (Norma) Adkins and Donnie (Shirley) Adkins; sister-in-law, Barbara Adkins; as well as, nieces, nephews, including special nephews Mike (Theresa) Adkins and David Adkins, and his many friends.

A funeral will be held at 11am on Friday, November 11, 2022, at the Roberts Funeral Home in Washington Court House with Pastor Danny Dodds officiating. Burial with military honors in the Sugar Creek Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Thursday, November 10 ^th at the funeral home.
