Listen to Obituary

Johnny T. “Snake” Pendleton, 67, of New Holland passed peacefully on January 15, 2025, at the OSU Medical Center.

John is survived by his wife, the former Vicki McNichols, whom he married April 3, 1992; his daughter, Shawnie Copas and her husband, Jason; grandson, Braylon Copas; sister, Patti Pendleton; brother, Jerry (Kathy) Pendleton; as well as a niece, nephews, and his many friends.

John was born May 22, 1957, in Fayette County, Ohio to the late Herschel and Donna (Donahue) Pendleton. He was a 1975 graduate of Madison Plains High School. John was a nearly 38-year member of the Jeffersonville Masonic Lodge, having been raised to the degree of Master Mason on February 19, 1987, as well as a long-time member of Elks Lodge 129. John was a lifelong farmer. Farming was his true passion. And by doing that, he built a life for his family that he was so proud of. He spent his career not only working but teaching others when it came to farming. His favorite person to teach, “Mr. B”. Braylon was his pride and joy and John was truly a role model to him. He showed him how to plant and harvest the land, plant the garden and work hard everyday. Never taking a day for granted. John retired just two short years ago and spent the majority of his time in Florida. Florida was so important to him. He spent his time fishing, enjoying time with so many friends, biking, and boating on the Gulf every chance he got. He was a true icon on Fort Myers Beach. John will be remembered for the life he lived and the legacy he left behind.

A funeral is planned for 11am on Friday, January 24, 2025, at the Gathering Place Church with Pastor Terry Martindale officiating. Burial will follow in the Madison Mills Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Gathering Place Thursday, January 23rd from 3pm until 7pm. A masonic service will start at 7pm with an Elks service to follow immediately after.

In lieu of flowers, please, live life to the fullest, party with friends and family, and never take a single day for granted. To represent John in true “Snake” fashion and the life he lived, there will be a celebration of life following on Friday at 6pm at the Line Shack for beer, pizza, and laughs.
