Judith Ann Futhey

Judith Ann Futhey, 78, of Washington Court House, Ohio, gained her eternal reward on September 19, 2026, in Washington Court House following an ongoing illness.

Born on September 16, 1948, in Staunton, Ohio, Judith lived a life rooted in faith, family, and enduring connection. She was a graduate of Miami Trace High School and remained devoted to the people and places that shaped her life. A member of the South Side Church of Christ, she also held a remarkable 50-year membership in the Order of the Eastern Star, reflecting a long-standing commitment to fellowship and community. She loved spending time with family, and those moments together were at the heart of what mattered most to her. She also enjoyed watching Ohio State Football, a pastime that surely brought many spirited and memorable hours.

Judith will be remembered with love by her family. She is survived by her stepsons, John (Robyn) Futhey and James Futhey; her grandchildren, Will Futhey, Wade Futhey; her brother, William (Melanie) Vince; her nephews, Mark Cartwright and Brian (Shelli) Cartwright; a niece Kristi (Kyle) Browning; great nieces and nephews, Ally Cartwright, Josh Cartwright, Brice Cartwright, Morgan Cartwright, Stevie Browning, and Willa Browning. Each of them carries forward the memory of her presence, her care, and the love she shared so freely with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Florence (Shaffer) Vince, her husband, John Futhey, and her sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Gary Cartwright. Their memories remained part of her life, and now she is reunited with those who went before her.

Judith’s life was one of steady devotion—to her faith, to her family, and to the simple joys that brought people together. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her and they may find comfort knowing she is now rejoicing in Heaven.

A graveside service will take place at the convenience of the family.
