Lillian Fern Fisher of Jeffersonville, Ohio, passed away on December 9, 2025, at Carriage Court Assisted Living Facility in Washington Court House. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Joseph Fisher, son Larry Bowsher, parents Stanley and Bertha Marcum, sister Frances Marcum, and brothers Warren “Gene” Marcum, Donald Marcum, Ronald Marcum, and Kenneth “Sonny” Marcum, and grand-son Scott Shaw.
Lillian grew up in Springfield, OH. She met her husband Joe while square dancing. They soon married and moved to Jeffersonville. Square dancing and roller skating became favorite pastimes for Lillian and Joe. Their children remember their perfectly synchronized couple’s skating, as a beautiful sight to behold.
Lillian loved to sew. Through the years, she made countess dance outfits and Halloween costumes for her children and grandchildren. She taught sewing in 4H to many young ladies in Fayette County. Lillian was also well-known for her talented upholstery work.
Lillian was very involved with her church, Jeffersonville United Methodist, teaching both Bible school and Sunday school, and helping with the annual rummage sale. She was a wonderful caretaker. Not only did she care for residents of the nursing home in Jamestown, where she worked for several years, but also her father-in-law, and mother, as well as others. She loved horses and enjoyed trail rides with the Happy Trails Riding Club.
She is survived by her brother Roger Marcum, daughters, Rebecca Strausbaugh and Deborah Shaw, son Randal Fisher, and grand-children Matthew Bowsher, Chad Strausbaugh, Heather Strausbaugh, Joshua Humphreys, Courtney Fisher; great-grandchildren Gabriel Seyfang, Jacob Seyfang, Mckenzie Seyfang, and Emma Seyfang, Liam Humphreys, and great-great grandchildren Ryleigh Pettiford, Rowen Seyfang, Rhett Seyfang.
A service is planned for 1pm on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Roberts Funeral Home in Washington Court House. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Jeffersonville. The family will receive friends from 11am until the start of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fayette Regional Humane Society, 4 Commercial Ave., Washington C.H., OH 43160.
