Loretta Sue (Brooks) Yates

Loretta Sue (Brooks) Yates, 83, of Washington Court House, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2023, following a prolonged illness.

Loretta was born January 6, 1940, in West Virginia to the late Homer and Virgie (Simons) Brooks. She was a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a former Member of the Bloomingburg United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Yates and her son Jerry Dean Murray.

Loretta is survived by her son, James Anthony Murray; by her grandchildren Jared Austin Murray, Josh Anthony Murray; great grandchildren, Jace and Jade Murray; stepdaughter, Carol Eaves, and step grandchildren, Elizabeth Yates, and Brandon Zachary Eaves. She also leaves behind a sister, Shelby Stevens, niece, Debbie Stevens, nephew, Chris Stevens, and her many friends including special friends, Linda Bennette, Carolyn Shadley and her feline friend Buddy.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation will take place with burial in Bloomingburg Cemetery to follow at the convenience of the family.

The family of Loretta would like thank the staff of Signature Healthcare of Fayette County and her roommate Twyla Bolen for all the love and support shown during her stay with them.
