Mary E. Cox, age 80, of Washington Court House, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at Mt. Carmel Medical Center where she had been a patient for 5 days.
She was born June 11, 1933 in Fayette County to Clarence and Elsie Haynes. She was a homemaker her whole life and helped with her husband’s business, Dean Cox Plumbing and Heating. She was a great cook and enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved to go to Lucky You and McDonalds on Saturdays with all her good friends.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Norman (Dean) Cox in 2008; brother, Bob Haynes; sister, Carolyn Williams; son, Randy Cox and grandson Ryan Cox.
She leaves behind two daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Terry Kitchen, Gale and Jeff Thompson; son and daughter-in-law Larry and Linda Cox, all of Washington C.H.; nine grandchildren, Randa LeVesque, Scott (Nikki Fagan) Kitchen, Tara (Heath) Shoemaker, Dustin (Heather) Thompson, Adam (Elizabeth) Thompson, Sheri (Rod) Murphy, Greg (Sharon) Cox, Crystal Stevenson and Leslie Matthews; 21 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Wellman-Kinzer & Godorhazy Funeral Home, Friday, February 14, from 5-7 p.m. Funeral service Saturday 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Danny Dodds officiating. Interment to follow at Washington Cemetery.
