Matt was employed by Davis Hay and Straw Transport where he managed the warehouse, drove semi and hauled grain and hay.
What made this job so special to him was being employed by his lifelong friend Brian Davis.
Matt had many interests and hobbies including International Harvesters, Tractor shows and Star Trek.
The thing that brought the most joy to him was spoiling all the kids in his and Shonna's life.
He would get the biggest kick out of handing the kids money. Good grades, bad days, sickness, broken hearts, all meant the kids were getting money from Uncle Matt. If the kids did something wrong, he was just as quick to give "the look", and some Uncle Matt advice was sure to follow.
Since he had none of his own, he loved each one like they were his. Mason (Jackie) Cook, Michael Cook, Christina Cook and Catherine Cook, Tyler (Emily) Demint, Kayla-Ann (Benjamin) Widmayer, Levi Benson, Ariyana (Trevor) Dove, Colton Tackett, Nevaeh Tackett, Molly Tackett, Carson Demint and Baby Anthony.
