Myrtle Irene Funk

Myrtle Irene Funk, 88, of New Holland earned her heavenly reward on the morning of May 23, 2024, at the OSU Wexner Medical Center.

Myrtle was born October 14, 1935, to the late Ralph and Wyomea (Southward) Parker. She had worked many years in food service. Myrtle was a devoted member of the New Holland Church of Christ In Christian Union. She loved reading books, especially those based on Christian values. She also enjoyed working puzzles, word find books, and sudoku.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dale, in 2018, and by her siblings, Donald Parker, Ralph Parker, Virginia Carroll, Robert Parker, Edith Arledge, Helen Arledge, Harold Parker, and Paul Parker.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Susan (Larry) Eggleton and Philip (Jodi) Funk; grandchildren, Adam Lightle, Alyssa (Greg) Delong, Austin Funk, Caitlyn Rosado, Rob Long, Kiersten (Nikolas) Beatty, Audrey (Taylor) Mead-Funk; and great grandchildren, Arianna Rosado, Ezra Delong, Sagan Delong, Brighton Beatty, and Sunny Beatty; and one brother, Gerald (Carol) Parker. She also leaves behind many extended family members and her many friends.

A graveside service is planned for 11am on Wednesday May 29, 2024, in the New Holland Cemetery with Clara Smallwood and Pastor Larry Doss officiating. Roberts Funeral Home is caring for the family. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
