Paul Edwin Simmons, 75, of Washington Court House passed at his home, unexpectedly on February 2, 2024.
Paul was born June 28, 1948, in Jeffersonville, Ohio to the late Jahue and Marie (Harris) Simmons. He was a graduate of Miami Trace High School. Paul was an industrial Welder by trade. He was a former member of the Sons of American Legion Post #653. Paul enjoyed watching cartoons and classic horror movies. He also liked testing his luck on horse racing. Paul’s favorite past time, however, was pestering those he loved with pointless arguing.
Along with his parents, Paul was preceded in death by two sons, Paul Edwin Simmons, Jr. and Paul Anthony Simmons, and by several siblings.
Survivors include his son, Jay Simmons and a daughter in law, Amy Simmons, both of Washington Court House; grandchildren, Keanna Simmons, Seth Simmons, Scylar Johnson (Shyann Colter), and Eric Johnson (Alexis Thorton); great grandchildren, Sophie, Sterling, and Serenity; brother, Dwight Simmons; and the mother of his children, Gloria (Johns) Simmons. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and friends, including special friends, Kristi, Mark, Jimmy, and Kelly.
A funeral service is planned for 1pm on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at the Roberts Funeral Home in Washington Court House with Bishop David Evans officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Jeffersonville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 11am until the start of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the funeral home to help offset Paul’s final expenses.
