Richard "Dick" Fredrick Rutherford

Richard Fredrick “Dick” Rutherford, 91, of Washington Court House passed away unexpectedly at his home on June 14, 2024.

Dick Was born February 8, 1933, in Bridgeport, Ohio to the late William and Mildred (Steed) Rutherford. He retired from the Ohio State University maintenance department after 25 years. Following retirement, Dick started driving for the Manheim Auto Auction where he worked several more years. He was a fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns. Even into his later years, he enjoyed working crossword puzzles. He was also an avid reader and loved learning new things to keep his mind sharp. Most importantly, Dick was a wonderful and loving husband, father, and grandfather. The love he had for his family was returned in surplus.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Bobbilynn Williams.

Surviving to carry on his legacy are his wife, the former Patricia Ann Kennedy, whom he married June 27, 1980; his daughters, Lisa Rutherford, Theresa Littleberry, and Sheresa Gordon; grandchildren, Elizabeth Miller, Crystal Kennedy, Melissa Kennedy, Trey Tomlin, Terrell Littleberry, Alexander Gordon, Joshua Gordon, Christopher Gordon, Jordan Blankenship, and Annalissa Garcia; 10 great grandchildren; niece, Chantel Eveland; nephew, Keith Rutherford II; and his many dear friends.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation will take place with burial to follow at the convenience of the family. Roberts Funeral Home is caring for the family.
