Richard L Russell

Richard Leroy Russell I, born on March 14, 1969, in Washington Court House, Ohio, passed away on September 6, 2025, at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio. He was 56 years old.

Richard dedicated many years of his life to a career as an over-the-road truck driver, a profession that allowed him to explore the open road and experience the beauty of the country while making lifelong memories along the way. He was known for his love of adventure, which extended far beyond his work. Rick was an avid motorcycle rider, and he found joy in fishing, working on cars, and tinkering with various projects in his garage. His hands-on spirit and inquisitive mind made every task an opportunity.

Richard is survived by his beloved daughters, Miranda Russell (Jeff Kinzer) and Rachel Johnson, as well as his sons, Richard (Alexandria) Russell II, Jordan Woods (Corless Dixon), Timothy Woods, and Dakota (Bryanna) Knisley. He was a devoted grandfather to Rilyn and Kahlen Jones, Brooklynn Lewis, MaKenna Browning, Lyndi Dixon, Hayden Beers, Makayla, Rayanna, Isabella Genevieve, Timothy Jr., and Symone Woods, Jasmine Johnson, Isaac, Jaxson, Mason, Kaiden, and Dillon Russell, who brought immense joy to his life and soon to arrive grandson, Jameson Render. He is also survived by his brother, Darrell (Trina) Russell, along with several nieces and nephews with whom he shared a special bond, as well as extended family and friends who will cherish his memory, including special friends and mothers to his children, Melissa Swift and Gwendolyn Woods.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Darrell and Sheilian (Harter) Russell, and a sister, Yvonne Lyons. His legacy lives on through his family.

Cremation will take place with a private memorial service at the convivence of the family.
