Robert Charles Jaynes

Robert C. Jaynes , age 83, of Washington CH, formerly of Columbus, Passed away on the evening of February 23, 2017 at the Fayette Memorial Hospital.

Robert was born on November 4, 1933 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Charles and Mary Vollmuth Jaynes. He was a proud veteran of the US navy, serving aboard the USS Yorktown. Robert was also a successful businessman. He operated his own plumbing business, Charles Jaynes Pluming Company, in Whitehall for many years.  In his younger years he enjoyed boating on Lake Erie. He had attended the Peace Lutheran Church in Columbus, and was currently attending the Grace Community Church in WCH.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Elaine Deering.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Colleen Stewart Jaynes, whom he married February 17, 1956; children, Tina (Rob) Baker of Fort Myers, FL and Tammy (Troy) Brown of WCH; grandchildren, Lindsey Baker, Trenton Brown and Taylor Brown.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation will take place. A memorial service at the Peace Lutheran Church will follow at a late date, and he will be laid to rest in the columbarium of their Memorial Garden. Roberts Funeral home is caring for the family.
