Rodney Dale Lyons

Rodney Dale Lyons, 54, of Washington Court House passed away peacefully on February 15, 2025, at the OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus.

Rodney was born November 5, 1970, in Washington Court House. He was a member of the Washington Senior High School Class of 1989 and a graduate of the Laurel Oaks Vocational School, where he studied auto body repair. Following graduation, Rodney joined the military, becoming a proud member US Army. His love of sports was a significant part of his life, and he was a dedicated fan of the Raiders football team. Most recently Rodney was employed at the Pettit’s Gas Station where he was known for his friendly demeanor and work ethic. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his son, Rodney Lyons, Jr., a sister, Candy Lyons, grandparents, George and Eskie Conger, his mother-in-law, Debra Harter, and grandfather by marriage, Donald Knisley, Sr.”Pappy”.

Survivors include the love of his life, Pauline (Knisley) Lyons, whom he married December 30, 2001; his mother, Pamela (Lyons) Wilt and her husband Gene; children, Shana Lyons and Dewayne Knisley; grandchildren, Lily, Carmen, and Despon Knisley; a sister, Janet Wilt; and, a brother, Chris (Brandy) Wilt. He also leaves behind his father-in-law, Donald Knisley and his wife Maxine, brother-in-law, Don Knisley and his wife Jo, sister-in-law, Tina Knisley and her fiancé, Joe Marshall, his many cherished nieces and nephews, with whom he enjoyed making buckeyes and creating lasting memories, and his many friends.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation will take place. A celebration of life will take place at noon on June 8, 2025, at the Christman Park in Washington Court House. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rodney’s memory are suggested to the Unity Fellowship Church, 4405 Prairie Road, Washington C.H., Ohio 43160.
