Roger Lewis Diffendal

July 12, 1945 — May 22, 2024

Roger Lewis Diffendal, 78, of Washington CH passed peacefully May 22, 2024, at his home with family by his side.

Roger was born July 12, 1945, in Springfield, Ohio to the late John and Helen (Arnold) Diffendal. Roger was a 1965 graduate of Westfall High School, where he was involved in FFA. As a young man, he had worked in farming. Roger was a proud veteran of the US Air Force. He later started a career at Calmar Manufacturing as a mold technician, where he was employed until retirement. Roger will be remembered as an excellent father and grandfather. He often joked that he ran a free taxi service for the kids. He enjoyed attending sporting events that the grandchildren participated in. In his down time, Roger could be found watching soap operas, westerns, bar rescue, coloring, working word search puzzles, and joy riding.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jeslyn Ames, a nephew, Brad Van Buskirk, and two brothers-in-law, Mike Van Buskirk and Bill Murch.

Survivors include his children, Traci (Scott) Richendollar, Lisa Diffendal; Grandchildren, Peyton Richendollar, Tre Thomas, Tiairra Thomas (Dylan Underwood), Darrien Lee, Jalynn Lee, Daezhar Lee, Jakarri Ames, and Josie Ames; Great grandchild, Pharaoh Underwood; and sisters, Barbara Van Buskirk, Kathleen Murch, and Doris Ann (Mike) Funk. He also leaves behind special friends, Dan Martindale, Dona and Harry Langley, Diane Munro, special friend and mother of Lisa, Leah McFadden, and bonus daughter and her family, Chrissy Harding, Mackenzie Harding, and Kobe Harris. We also cannot forget his canine friend, Abraham.

A funeral service is planned for 12pm on May 30, 2024, at the Roberts Funeral Home in Washington Court House with Pastor Joy Stanforth officiating. Burial will follow in the Williamsport Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 29th from 4 to 6pm. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Ohio’s Hospice of Fayette County, 222 N. Oakland Ave., Washington C.H., OH 43160.
