Rusty Penwell, Jr.

Rusty Dean Penwell, Jr. passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on June 12, 2026, in his hometown of Washington Court House, Ohio. Born on April 8, 1988, in the same city, Rusty’s life was one marked by skilled craftsmanship and creative expression.

Rusty built a respected career in the sheet metal industry. Alongside his work in trades, he pursued his passion as a tattoo artist, creating lasting art for many individuals, reflecting his commitment to both precision and artistry.

He was the beloved son of Rusty Sr. and Harriett (Armstrong) Penwell and was cherished by his grandparents, Patti Locey and Harry Thomas Armstrong, Sr. He leaves behind his children: Kayden (Emma) Penwell, Alachi Penwell, Iva Penwell, and Lyston Penwell, and a grandchild, Oakley Penwell. His family circle extended to his sister Candy (Tylor) Bennett and her family, including nieces Tyrena (Terrance) Cowman, Lacy Bennett, Zaylyn Bennett, and nephew Konrad Bennett. Rusty’s memory is also preserved in the legacy of his deceased grandparents, Iva Belle Tucker and Delbert Locey.

The community is invited to pay their respects during the visitation on June 19, 2026, from 4 to 6 pm at Roberts Funeral Home in Washington Court House, Ohio. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 6pm with Pastor Bobby Seymour officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted by the funeral home to help cover Rusty's final expenses.
