Stevia L. Whited, died July 11, 2015 at the Four Seasons Nursing Facility in Washington C.H., Ohio, with her daughter by her side holding her hand.
Mrs. Whited was born in Leesburg, Ohio to Stephen and Grace (Sanders) Shubert on November 21, 1928.
She was preceded in death in November 2014 by her beloved husband of 67 years, Richard, and sister Betty Dice in 1976 (Willard 2006).
She is survived by her daughter Deanna Whited and son in law Lee Moore
of New Smyrna FL; a sister Grace Orihood (Dave) of New Holland, step sister Rosemary Staley, granddaughter Amy Schossler (Frank) and Laura Hendricks (Jimmie); great grandchildren, AJ and Emma Schossler, nephews Randy (Harriet) Dice and Adam Dice; niece Cheryl Powell (Brett) and numerous other beloved nieces and nephews.
Stevia worked at Rikes Kettering as a cashier and soon was promoted to a supervisor in the finance department of their main store in downtown Dayton. She returned to Washington C.H. in 1992 and worked at Kmart as a greeter. Family was the most important thing in her life. She was active in Mother Circle and PTA, enjoyed cooking, hosting family gatherings and crafts. Her afghans are beautiful and still enjoyed by those lucky enough to have one. With a keen sense of adventure she enjoyed travel, taking trips to Hawaii, Venezuela, Florida and Las Vegas.
Her family and friends will miss her but are comforted by knowing she has joined her beloved husband, Richard.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 14, 2014, from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Kinzer & Godorhazy Funeral Home, where the funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. Pastor Michael Hodge officiating. Interment to follow at Milledgeville-Plymouth Cemetery.
