Teddy Vaughn Miller, 74, of New Holland, Ohio passed away January 1, 2024 at home.
Teddy was born in Waterloo, Ohio to the late Clinton and Ella Miller. He attended Syms Valley High School. Ted began working at a young age before beginning a 26 ½ year career at Mac Tools in Washington Court House. Following the closing of the Mac Tools plant, he retired. Ted enjoyed working at Midland Acres for a while. He was a natural workaholic who, even after retirement, always found projects to work on and stay busy.
Ted was a kind and loving partner to his spouse, Patti, as well as an amazing father to their daughter Angel. He loved to travel and visit friends and family. Ted was a true animal lover and had raised various animals including appaloosa horses, mules, chickens, guineas, oxen and dogs. One of his favorite pastimes was going on leisurely wagon rides. He also enjoyed talking on his CB radio talking to friends near and far.
Along with his parents, Teddy was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Patricia, and two children, Travis Vaughn and Tami Jo; three brothers: James Miller, Blaine Miller and Carl Gene Miller; and two sisters: Barbara Fields and Faye Thompson.
Remaining to cherish his memory is his daughter, Angel Miller of New Holland; 2 brothers: Dennis (Charlotte) Miller and Ronnie (Bertha Mae) Miller; 2 sisters: Judith (Keith) DeMent and Jeraldine (Michael) Foe; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; many friends and his faithful canine companion, Katie. He will be missed by many.
Teddy passed away after a brief but aggressive battle with pancreatic cancer. He had been admitted into hospice care and was lovingly cared for by his daughter Angel and long-time friend Rick Curnutte. Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, he managed his illness with strength and grace, and wanted to spend as much time at home talking and visiting with his loved ones as possible. On his final day, his daughter was by his side when he passed peacefully into the loving arms of our Lord.
A funeral service is planned for 1pm on Friday, January 5th at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Hodge officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11am-1pm until the start of the service.
