Bert E. Blair of Washington C.H. went to be with our Lord on November 21, 2020 at the age of 86.
Bert was born on February 7, 1934 in Johnson County, KY to the late Eskel and Kate (Williams) Blair but had lived most of his life in Fayette County, Ohio. He worked several years driving bus for the Miami Trace School District before transitioning into Law enforcement. Bert worked as a police officer for the City of Washington C.H. from 1963 to 1974. He was a graduate of both the Cincinnati Police Division and The Ohio State Patrol Academies. He was also a graduate of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation in London, Ohio F.B.I. training academy in Chillicothe, Ohio, where he specialized in weapons training.
Along with his parents, Bert was preceded in death by a son, Danny Ray Blair, a sister, Sue Anderson and two brothers, Billy and Ray Blair.
Survivors include his daughter, Debbie (Edward) Ward, Brenda (Mike) Althouse and Jerri “Pebbles” (Timmy) Upthegrove; sons, Barry “Buff” (Shannon) Blair and Terry Joe Blair all of Fayette County; and a brother, Jack Blair. He also leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family, as well as his many friends.
A graveside service will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, November 25th at the Greenfield Cemetery in Greenfield, Ohio with Pastor Danny Dodds officiating. In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to Children’s Hospital or Autism Awareness. Roberts Funeral Home is caring for the family.
