Charles Maynard Morris, Jr., 75, of Bloomingburg entered the gates of heaven on August 10, 2021. He passed peacefully at his home with his family at his side.
Charlie was born in Clarksburg, Ohio to the late Charles, Sr. and Martha (Teets) Morris. After school he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he proudly served his country fighting during Vietnam. Following discharge, he worked as a machinist at Mac Tools until their closing and then as a delivery driver for Hartly Oil, until his retirement. Childhood work on and around farming started a love of truck and tractors, which continued throughout his life. He enjoyed going to watch the tractor and truck pulls at local events. He was a fan of both the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Bengals. Charlie also enjoyed watching westerns on TV and could watch them time and time again.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Katherine Morris and a sister, Sandra Morris.
Survivors include his wife, the former Cheryl Thomas, whom he married July 19, 1985; children, Todd Morris of Greenfield, Angela (Joe) Gilpen of WCH, John (Lisa) Bolen of VA, Michael Bolen, Jr. of FL, and Anita (Tim) Carson of Bloomingburg; grandchildren, Jared, Todd Jr., Adam, and Ronnie Morris, Ashley (Josh) Shaffer, Mandee (Timmy) Leach, Derek Gilpen, Jacob Bolen, Chyna (Trent) Engle, Dylan and Dalton Carson; and 15 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brothers, Howard and Phillip Morris, and his many special friends, including special friends, Charles Akers and brother-in-law, Dennis Potter and his canine companion and protector, Tina.
A service is planned for 11am on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Dodds officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the New Holland Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, August 16th from 5pm to 7pm.
