Christopher Gray of Bloomingburg passed peacefully at his home on February 10, 2022, at the age of 73.
Chris was born March 23, 1948, in Bloomingburg, Ohio to the late Eugene Sr. and Eulala (Harris) Gray. He was a member of the Miami Trace High School class of 1966. Following graduation, he joined the US Air Force where he served his country during Vietnam. After returning home, he worked at the Kroger Bakery for a short time before joining the team at Cortec, where he finished out a 35-year career. In his recent years, Chris had become a napping specialist, when he wasn’t watching Westerns or playing MLB Show on the PlayStation. He was an avid fan of both the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns. He never lied but was known to “stretch the truth” from time to time. All in all, he was just a genuine man who loved spending time with his family.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by children, Misti and Shawn Gray.
He is survived by his wife, Cricket Gray whom he married on October 10, 1991; children, Kristi Gray (Mark Saxton), Von (Kirstyn) Gray, Evan (Kayla) Gray, Chunk Gray (Patricia Root), and his fur kid Prince; grandchildren, Christopher Gray (Joshlyn Fox), Mackenzie Gray, Jasmine (Ethan) Sheppard, Brandon Gray, Courtney (Kyle) Lower, and fur grandkid Caesar; great grandchildren, Eli, Willow, Hannah, Braxton, Miah, Wyatt, Mason, Mackenzie, Erin, Kamdan, and Ava; and a brother, David (Jackie) Gray. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins, other extended family, and a host of friends, including a special friend, Dean Robinson and everyone who knew him as Grandpa Chris.
A service is planned for 1pm on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Esto Haithcock, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Bloomingburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11am until the start of the service.
