David Lester Snyder, 78, of Washington Court House passed away on October 15, 2022, at the Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth.
David was born August 5, 1944, in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Charles Snyder and Rose Hern. He had retired from RTA in Dayton as a supervisor following 35 years of service. Following retirement, David returned to driving buses again for several years with Buckeye Charters. He was a dedicated father and grandfather. David coached kids in both baseball and football at different times. He enjoyed watching many types of racing including Nascar and dirt track and he was a big fan of both the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Bengals.
Along with his parents, David was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy in 2020.
Survivors include his children, Diana Williams (Dale Sonnenberg) of Fairborn, John (Rachel) Snyder of Gardner, KS, Jeremy Snyder of New Carlisle, and Ashley (Chris) VonWeller of WCH; 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren, sisters, Linda Smith, Patty Bailey, Mary Campbell Fristoe, Brenda DeBusk, Evelyn Pigg, and Helen (Ed) Craft; a brother, Tony (Angie) Snyder; as well as, many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
A visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 19, 2022. from 5 to 7pm at the Roberts Funeral Home in Washington Court House. In keeping with his wishes, cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted to offset final expenses.
