Donald L. Hutchens, 92, of Bloomingburg passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at his home.
Donald was born April 26, 1930, in Fairborn, Ohio to the late Basil D. and Gertrude (Dillman) Hutchens. He was a 1951 Graduate of Fairborn High School. Donald Proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1956. His duty assignment was on the USS Abbot (DD629). Following discharge, he began a career in the Aviation Laboratory with Wright Patterson Air Force Base, retiring from there in 1985. Donald was a Past Master of the Beaver Masonic Lodge No. 753 and a member of the Bloomingburg Presbyterian Church. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother.
Along with his parents, he was received in Heaven by sisters, Phyllis, M. Jane, and Sovilla.
Survivors include his wife, the former Anna Lou Cook, with whom he shared 68 years of marriage; son Donald (Kathy); granddaughter, Kandis; and great grandson, Cameron. He also leaves behind a sister, Eleanor, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
A funeral service in planned for 1pm on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at the Roberts Funeral Home in Washington CH with Pastor Mark Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow in the Bloomingburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11am until the start of service.
